Online HR jobs increase

Online HR job advertisments are increasingThe number of HR jobs being advertised online has increased, which may be good news for recruitment in the sector, new figures have revealed.

According to the Monster 2009 Employment Index for August, HR advertised jobs increased for the second consecutive month, from 63 points to 64.

This was in contrast to other sectors, which saw declines with overall online job demand falling from 110 to 109.

Along with HR, there were also increases in marketing, PR, media, administrative, banking, finance, insurance and IT jobs.

Hugo Sellert, head of economic research at Monster, said: "Although employer demand has remained largely stable since the beginning of the year, businesses have not yet resumed hiring."

He added that businesses now have a larger recruitment pool of talent available to them as unemployment levels rise.

In line with this, Richard Doherty, group vice-president of solutions and marketing at Jobpartners, recently stated that HR departments need to have the key processes in place to support recruitment.
