Overview:

Ann McCracken Ann McCracken, Vice President, ISMA – International Stress Management Association UK

Ann McCracken specialises in developing a positive and resilient working culture in organisations by introducing effective strategies in performance and wellbeing at all levels.
Having initially trained as a scientist, she carried out research with DEFRA and consultancy in the NHS. She spent 10 years in education before retraining as a stress management practitioner in 1996. Ann is a Director of AMC2 and the vice president of the International Stress Management Association (ISMA UK) – the professional body for stress management practitioners. She is the author of Stress Gremlins©, regularly writes/broadcasts and is an external lecturer at Westminster University.

Stephen Bevan Professor Stephen Bevan, Head of HR Research Development, Institute for Employment Studies (IES)

Stephen was Director of the Centre for Workforce Effectiveness at The Work Foundation and an Honorary Professor at Lancaster University.
Stephen has conducted research on high-performance work practices, employee reward strategy, staff engagement and retention and good work. He has a special interest in workforce health and wellbeing, leading a number of national and international projects focusing on workforce health and the impact of chronic illness on productivity and social inclusion.
He is an advisor to a number of UK government departments and has advised employers and policymakers in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Australasia and North America. In 2014 he was named the 6th most influential HR thinker in the UK.
Stephen is a reviewer for several academic journals, including The Lancet, a regular columnist for HR Magazine, a judge at the Global Healthy Workplace Awards and is a member of Public Health England’s Health & Work Advisory Board. Stephen is Chair of the UK Fit for Work Coalition and Director of The Work Foundation’s Health at Work Policy Unit.

Dr Andrew Hatch 150x150 Dr Andrew Hatch, CEO Founder, Global Wellness Centres

Dr Andrew Hatch is a researcher and US Board certified and licensed physician, technique specialist and international lecturer. He specialises in functional neurology, neuro-musculoskeletal re-education, posture correction providing whole person preventive and therapeutic care.
Dr Hatch’s passion is providing treatment and preventive education for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the workplace. He is an expert in corporate wellness and work-related MSDs, providing guidance on risk assessment, prevention and early intervention to address physical, emotional and chemical stressers impacting employee wellbeing and performance.

Joseph Hall Joseph Hall, Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Operations, Thames Water

Joe is Head of Safety, Health and Wellbeing for the Wholesale Water business at Thames Water and has worked at
Thames since 2013.
Joe has been instrumental in setting the strategic direction for Thames Water in regards to Safety, Health and
Wellbeing and assisted in the development their Health & Wellbeing maturity model, which focuses on Worker,
Workplace and Wellbeing.
He has 15 years of experience as a Safety & Health practitioner, in operational, field and strategic positions and has worked across a number of safety critical industries and construction.

Jenny Lawrence Jenny Lawrence, HR Director, Lindt & Sprüngli (UK) Ltd

Jenny joined Lindt in Jan 2014 and is their HR Director, responsible for the UKI HR strategy.
Jenny is passionate about health and wellbeing, recognising this as one of the biggest HR strategic challenges facing
the workplace today. Last year, she implemented a number of successful initiatives that earned Lindt a place in the
top 50 Great Places to Work and Britain’s Healthiest Company.
The HR strategy “making Lindt an inspiring place to work” is a key pillar within the company strategy and aligned to
the company purpose “making people feel special”. Prior to Lindt, Jenny worked for Unilever.

Helen Houghton 150x150 Helen Houghton, Head of Health, Wellbeing and Occupational Health, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals

Helen is the lead for Health and Wellbeing at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBH). Her
background is public health and health promotion where she has 14 years’ experience in the field.
Helen previously worked for public health in Nottinghamshire for six years with the portfolio for workplace health. In
this role Helen developed the ‘Wellbeing at Work Award Scheme’ and supported a vast number of organisations both
large and small to achieve the ‘Gold standard’. Helen is currently using this expertise to transform the health and
wellbeing of staff at DBH.

Andrew Reynolds - Revitilised Andrew Reynolds, Managing Director, Revitalised Ltd

Andy Reynolds, founder of Revitalised Ltd, has been providing digital solutions to the health & wellbeing industry for more than 12 years.

An accomplished speaker, he is passionate about making the latest technology available to businesses and endusers, helping to educate, communicate and motivate people to lead a balanced healthy lifestyle within the workplace and wider community.

He studied English, PE & Sport Science at Loughborough University and founded Revitalised in 2004.

Chris Rhodes 150x150 Chris Rhodes, Chief Nursing Officer, Fit for Work

Chris has spent over 20 years delivering and managing occupational services across a wide client base that includes the gas industry, rail, construction, NHS services and media. She developed a keen interest in tropical disease working with the BBC and their Natural History Unit.

Prior to working in the occupational health sector, Chris spent time working in the Falkland Islands as a ward sister in trauma and general medicine as well as working as a UK-based practice nurse. She has worked with Fit for Work assembling and managing a large multi-disciplinary team of health professionals to deliver the Fit for Work service, since October 2014.

Jo Salter Jo Salter, People and Organisations, PwC

Jo currently leads a team at PwC focusing on innovation in digital, analytics and insight for the People & Organisation practice. She is passionate about technology and the ways that digital solutions can impact employee health and wellbeing and in turn business performance.

Jo has over 25 years’ of experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and has led a variety of transformational change and strategic review programmes across industry.

For over 15 years, Jo has worked as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University Business School teaching management and is the author of two books focusing on using personal energy for high achievement. She was also the first female fast-jet pilot in the Royal Air Force and has a real interest in what drives high performance.

 Kate-Markland Kate Markland, Managing Director, The Markland Consultancy

Kate is an experienced health professional who has worked within the Health and Wellbeing arena for over 15 years. Kate set up Centres of Excellence for Physiotherapy within Swindon and Cirencester.

It was through the clinic corporate contracts that she realised Health and Wellbeing, within the workplace, needed an injection of care and strategic planning.

Kate is passionate about delivering excellence and care through strategic analysis to assist businesses understand the costs, causes and impacts of presenteeism and absenteeism.

In 2014 The Markland Consultancy was formed to help businesses understand how the poor health and wellbeing of their employees impacts their bottom line and crucially, how to measure and implement targeted interventions to ensure ROI and VOI.

Susie Griffin Susie Griffin, Business Director, The Markland Consultancy

Susie started her career as a Captain in the Army and went onto to develop an outstanding career, spanning 20 years , within Operations in a variety of global conglomerates including Amazon, Sara Lee and PepsiCo.

Her work within Operations covered Health, Safety and Security, Facilities and Estates Management and Business Cultural Development. Susie joined Kate in 2014 and The Markland Consultancy was born out of their different skill sets, backgrounds and expertise.

 Emma Mamo Emma Mamo, Head of Workplace Wellbeing, MIND

Emma is Head of Workplace Wellbeing at Mind. Emma joined Mind in 2007 and since 2010 has led MIND’s campaigning for mentally healthy workplaces – playing a pivotal role in thought leadership to position mental health in the workplace as a key priority for employers and Government.
Emma has led culture change through engagement with employers, health and safety professionals, HR audiences and Government on mental health in the workplace and back-to-work support for people with mental health problems. She also supports networks of employers and stakeholders to share best practice and develop business-to-business peer support. Emma has worked in the disability sector since 2005 and previously worked for Mencap, the learning disability charity.
