Bills guest today is Dr. Andy Wood OBE DL, Chief Executive at Adnams PLC, the home of some of the best beers, wines and spirits the UK has to offer.

Andy is Non-Executive Chairman of SG Wealth Management (SGWM), a chartered financial planning and wealth management firm operating throughout East Anglia, and former a Non-Executive Director of Folk Hotels. He is also a visiting Professor at the University of East Anglia.

He has also co-authored a book on Lean and Green Business Systems. The book was awarded the Shingo prize for Operational Excellence in 2013.

He was also awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2013 and is HRH The Prince of Wales’ Ambassador for Responsible Business in the East of England. In 2018 Andy was awarded the FIRST Special Award for Environmental Responsibility as part of a House of Lords presentation on Responsible Capitalism.

  • In addition to your role at Adnams, you’re also a former Non-Executive Director of Folk Hotels. Talk to me about the effects the pandemic had on the hospitality industry in the UK and efforts to/challenges of attracting and developing employees in a ‘post-pandemic’ world
  • I see more and more Adnams products in the shops. That’s great! Based on Adnam’s experiences of growth, I’d like to get your ideas on how leaders can scale processes and talent management efforts at pace.

Dr. Andy Wood OBE DL the Chief Executive at Adnams PLC, home of some of the best beers, wines and spirits the UK has to offer. Andy Wood joined Adnams in the mid-1990s with responsibility for developing its customer service and supply chain operations. He joined the Board in 2000 as Sales and Marketing Director becoming Managing Director in 2006 and Chief Executive in 2010. Andy has an MBA, a doctorate from Cranfield University, and Honorary doctorates in Business from Anglia Ruskin University, in Science from Cranfield University and Civil Law from the University of East Anglia.
