About this Edition

On this week’s episode, we are joined by Alan Price, Group Chief Operating Officer at Peninsula and CEO of Bright HR, where we discuss how HR can prepare for the impending phasing out of the furlough scheme and working life following this.

Supporting Articles

Story 1: Research released by HMRC indicates that, by the end of June, over half a million people came off the furlough scheme as employer contributions were set to change at that time.

Other research referenced – The number of job vacancies in the UK is currently higher than pre-pandemic numbers, signalling a recovery in the labour market.

Story 2: Recent research by Indeed showed some key problems which employers could be set to face as the scheme begins to wind down. Over two-fifths (41 per cent) of those still on furlough and over half of people (56 per cent) of people who are not currently in work are not searching for a new job.
