The award has been given following the successful 95.5% pass rate of the BSC’s Five Star Audit, an internationally recognised compliance system, enabling companies to benchmark the effectiveness of their safety management against best practice processes.
The audit involved a comprehensive assessment of Rockwool’s manufacturing plants in Bridgend looking at possible safety risks and analysis of safety processes and regulations.
This prestigious award will be presented to Rockwool at an award ceremony on 30th June 2011 on board HQS Wellington on The Thames.
Rockwool has also retained its ISO 18000 certification that is awarded to companies which can demonstrate that their occupational health and safety management systems are operating well and protecting employees effectively.
Wayne Gwilym, HR Director, Rockwool UK said: “Rockwool works continually to ensure its operations are carried out in the safest way possible and the five star award from the British Safety Council is testament to these efforts. We are delighted to receive this award and to retain our ISO 18000 certification.
“We take the safety and wellbeing of our employees extremely seriously and will make every effort to improve our high safety standards even further.”
