A capability management software company is currently involved in research aimed at addressing what talent management means to firms.

InfoBasis has launched a six-month project looking at talent management practices among UK organisations. The ultimate goal of the study is to determine a set of good practice guidelines concerning the issue.

Through interviews with businesses of varying sizes, InfoBasis intends to discover how organisations utilise talent management to engage with and develop their workers.

"There’s a great deal of interest in talent management right now, but very little agreement about what it is, or how to do it well. This research will go some way to answer those questions," stated Ashley Wheaton, InfoBasis’ chief executive officer.

The report is due to be published in September of this year.

Founded in 2001, InfoBasis is a UK-based provider of talent management software solutions.
