The majority of professionals in the HR sector are happy despite the fact that their workloads are increasing, it has been found.

According to research conducted by Badenoch & Clark, 94 per cent of people in the industry reported being happy in their roles.

This compares to 76 per cent three months ago.

However, HR workers also revealed they have experienced the highest increase in their workload since the start of this year, with one in four saying the equivalent of an extra day a week has been added to their responsibilities.

"The results of the index this time around are particularly revealing for HR workers. It seems the job is becoming very labour intensive," stated Allison Gray of Badenoch & Clark.

Meanwhile, a survey carried out recently by American Express Insurance found that the inability to enjoy a healthy work-life balance is causing 22 per cent of workers to feel frustrated.
