Unum is leading the way when it comes to devoting working time to volunteering

Liz Walker, former head of key accounts appointed to HR Director, Unum UK

 Employee benefits provider Unum has announced the appointment of Liz Walker, former head of key accounts, to HR director for the company’s UK business.

Liz will report directly into Peter O’Donnell, CEO, Unum UK and will also join the UK board effective from 1 June 2016. She will work closely with the Group HR team, and Diane Garofalo, senior vice president of corporate human resources, to support the company’s growth objectives via modern HR service delivery. This includes ensuring a customer experience that is aligned to the evolving needs of the changing workforce and marketplace and driving simple and efficient programmes, processes and use of technology.

A Unum employee for over 20 years, Liz previously led the UK team responsible for the strategic management and sales delivery of the business’s broker accounts, proving herself an integral member of the leadership team.

Prior to joining Unum UK, Liz worked in the sales team at Unum US for 16 years, moving into a management role in the Chicago office.

Peter O’Donnell, CEO, Unum UK said: “Liz has a strong record of success in various leadership positions and will bring her comprehensive business expertise and relationship management experience to this role.

“She will be able to build on the depth of expertise in Unum UK’s HR team, and will play a key role in supporting the company’s growth objectives.
