More and more recruiters are turning to video to attract the best candidates, according to new research from Korn Ferry talent solutions company Futurestep.
The survey of over 700 executives found that 50 percent use video as a method of narrowing the pool of applicants, while 71 percent use real-time video interviewing.
Mir Ali, Futurestep’s vice president of global technology solutions, said:
“With the ease of use and availability of video, the options are limitless for creative and effective recruiting and hiring.
“For example on-demand allows candidates to complete video job applications at home, after work and at their own pace. Pre-loaded, pre-determined questions give recruiters and hiring managers a strong understanding of which candidates would fit a specific role and organisational culture.”
Futurestep has prepared the following infographic highlighted the results of their survey:

Being in the video interviewing space, at Spark Hire we’ve seen the popularity of this technology grow significantly in just the past couple of years and we’re excited to be a part of it!
More and more companies are seeing the value in implementing video interviews into their recruiting process and we know 2015 will be a big year for this powerful technology. Video interviews allow hiring managers and staffing pros to quickly make personal connections with the right candidates. Working with thousands of companies everyday, we understand the importance of streamlining the recruiting process without sacrificing the quality of hires.
Additionally, video interviews allow companies to connect with non-local talent while also eliminating expensive travel costs. More often than not, hiring managers and recruiters will invite candidates to their office thinking they look great on paper, only to discover they aren’t the right fit for their company. With video interviews, hiring and recruiting pros can make personal connections with candidates to better determine if they’re worth bringing in for an in-person interview.
